U.S. Marines instruct on fundamentals of Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) to Royal Cambodian Navy Sailors at Ream Naval Base, Sihanoukville, Cambodia, Nov. 1. Training between U.S. and Cambodian service members took place during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 16. CARAT 2016 is a nine-country, bilateral exercise series between the United States and Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. This phase of CARAT focuses on partnerships between the forces of the US and Cambodia, and Brunei. SME: Cpl. A team of U.S. Marines and Coast Guardsmen taught small-boat operations and infantry tactics to Compagnie Fusilier de Marin Commandos in Toubacouta, Senegal, August 31-September 11, 2015. For two weeks, Marines and Coast Guardsmen with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa, Detachment A, spent time on land and water with members of the Senegalese COFUMACO teaching them essential skills to maintain regional stability and mitigate illicit trafficking.

In this episode, follow U.S. Marines with Company F, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and soldiers from the Japan Ground Self Defense Force as they conduct boat operations as part of the Japanese Observer Exchange Program. The JGSDF was integrated with the 31st MEU in order to better understand amphibious operations.

U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct bi-lateral and integrated combat rubber raiding craft training with Philippine Marines during Amphibious Landing Exercise 2015 (PHIBLEX 15), on Pangasinan Island, Palawan, Philippines, on 2 October 2014.
