U.S. Marines with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division conduct parachute operations by jumping out of a KC-130J Hercules and a UH-1N Huey on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, 2019. This combined training included Marines from 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, as well as support from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. This military training ensures the Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force are constantly trained and ready to provide aerial delivery of personnel or equipment wherever needed, quickly and effectively. Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366 and 3rd Marine Raider Battalion conducted parachute operations training from a CH-53E Super Stallion over Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 5, 2016. The operation provided training to the pilot and crew for when they are called upon to conduct personnel inserts in deployed environments, and also ensured that the special forces Marines continue to maintain their jump qualifications.

Elements of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced) and 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct parachute operations training aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 6, 2015. Rigged with parachutes, Reconnaissance Marines piled into the aircraft and prepared for takeoff to an altitude of 13,000 feet.
