More Information
Marine Corps Col. (Ret.) Douglas Hurley will command NASA's SpaceX Demo-2 mission. The first launch of Americans from the United States since 2011 is scheduled for May 30, 2020, at 3:22 p.m. EDT from Launch Complex 39A in Florida from the Kennedy Space Center. As the final flight test for SpaceX, this mission will validate the company’s crew transportation system, including the launch pad, rocket, spacecraft and operational capabilities. This also will be the first time NASA astronauts will test the spacecraft systems in orbit.
