After a competitive early board for the Marine Option Naval Reserves Officer Training Corps Scholarship, Justin Lafferty from Anchorage Alaska won the scholarship. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Marines of Recruiting Station Portland had to surprise Justin virtually of his win.

The Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Marine Option allows aspiring Marine Officers the opportunity to complete their studies at a participating college or university and earn a commission in the United States Marine Corps.
