Joe Higgins and Chadrick Wigle, coaches with II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Martial Arts Center of Excellence (MACE), Boxing program, explain the goals of the program and outline their expectations for their Marine boxing team. II MEF MACE is a combative training center for the Marines and Sailors stationed at Camp Lejeune. The Marines of II MEF come from all walks of life and each bring their own unique perspectives and talents to the boxing team; through focused discipline, high morals, mental and physical toughness, they prepare for victory. U.S. Marines with the All-Marine Boxing Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Martial Arts Center of Excellence (MACE), train to prepare for participation in local, regional and national boxing events. As a part of the boxing team, Marines train for Olympic-style boxing in a high-performance training environment to increase and maintain their physical fitness, their readiness and their lethality.
