U.S. Marines with the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Transition Training Unit completed a newly developed curriculum at the Assault Amphibian School at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, June 26-July 20, 2023. The Marine Corps' newly established ACV TTU developed and implemented two recently designed courses, the Operators Certification Course and Maintainers Certification Course, ensuring Marines possess the technical knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to safely operate, maintain, and employ the ACV. The Marine Corps is taking a deliberate approach to fielding the ACV to the Fleet Marine Force to ensure our Marines understand the platform’s capabilities and can operate it safely and proficiently. U.S. Navy Sailors and U.S. Marines with Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Expeditionary Operations Training Group test the durability and portability of fuel pods and effectiveness of Fusion sonar scanning equipment at Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 23, 2023. U.S. Marines with Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch, Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, work with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) to assess and verify the Amphibious Combat Vehicle's ability to integrate with naval shipping as part of the vehicle’s developmental testing off the shore of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Jan. 28, 2020. The Marines of AVTB are currently testing the Marine Corps’ newest amphibious vehicle, which will replace the Amphibious Assault Vehicle.
