3.  MMIB-1 will make appropriate entries into the Marines’ permanent records to reflect the FMOS.
4.  Per REF A, Marines applying for a FAS FMOS are highlighting their availability to serve in International Affairs and Political-Military billets when not serving in their primary MOS.  Marines subsequently declining to serve in such billets will have their FAS FMOS administratively withdrawn.  Marines with a FAS FMOS are required to maintain current minimum Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) scores of 1(plus)/1(plus)/1(plus)(Reading/Listening/Speaking) per REFs A and C.  Failure to maintain minimum scores will result in administrative withdrawal of the FAS FMOS.  Per REF A, all Marines designated as FASs are required to possess a completed Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).  Those Marines who do not have a current SSBI will submit a request immediately.  This MARADMIN serves as authority to initiate an SSBI.
5.  Marines listed above who meet time on station requirements and are seeking a FAS utilization tour should contact POC 1 in order to coordinate possible attendance to the Information Operations Practitioners Course, Security Cooperation Planners Course, Intensive Regional Area Seminar and/or Naval Postgraduate School regional certificate program.  Additional training may be required and will be provided on a space available basis based on current needs including Civil Military Operations Course or Ground Operations Chief Course and will be conducted on a TAD basis.
6.  Funding for language sustainment training may be available to Marines with the FAS FMOS.  Submit requests to POC 1.
7.  Questions concerning the International Affairs Program can be directed to the above POCs.
8.  Release authorized by BGen Christopher J. Mahoney, Director, Strategy and Plans Division, Plans, Policies and Operations, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps.//
