GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. HQMC Semper Fit and Recreation Branch (MFS) provides clarification on the use of the term “All-Marine” as it relates to sports teams within the Marine Corps.
2.  The reference provides guidance on Armed Forces participation in national and international sports activities. All-Marine sports teams participate in trial camps and championships throughout the year based upon the sports calendar of events approved by the Armed Forces Sports Council. These events occur in preparation for, and the actual participation in: Pan American Games, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Counseil Internationale Sports Militaire Games, or other national or international competitions.
3.  Armed Forces-level sporting events do not include installation-level or inter-Service authorized and/or sponsored competition or events.
4.  Only HQMC-authorized sports teams sponsored by HQMC, may call the team "All-Marine" (e.g., All-Marine Basketball Team) or otherwise use the term “All-Marine” when describing a team.
5.  Release authorized by BGen K. W. Stein, Director, Marine and Family Programs Division.//
