GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Situation.  Ref (a) requires commanders to provide regular subjective assessments of the unit’s ability to perform its mission under CBRN conditions.  Several inconsistencies have been observed in the reporting of CBRN readiness across the Marine Corps.  The CBRN readiness calculator provides a uniform means for commanders to evaluate their unit’s CBRN defense readiness.  The CBRN defense T and R calculator uses a holistic approach to evaluating multiple requirements outlined in references (a) to (f).
2.  Mission.  NLT 1 April 2017 all Marine Corps DRRS-MC reporting units will incorporate the CBRN defense calculator to determine CBRN defense readiness for reporting in DRRS-MC.
3.  Execution.  The CBRN defense T and R calculator user’s guide provides detailed instructions.  The current version of the calculator and user’s guide can be downloaded on the SiprNet from http:(slash)(slash)gccsportal.mcw.ad.usmc.smil.mil(slash)sites(slash)ppo(slash)ps(slash)cbrn(percentage)20readiness(slash)pages(slash)default.aspx.
4.  Admin and logistics.  Updates to the CBRN defense calculator will be published via SepCor.
5.  Command and signal.  HQMC Plans, Policies and Operations, Security Division is the office of primary responsibility for maintaining and updating the CBRN defense calculator.
