GENTEXT/REMARKS/
1. Each year the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveys a randomly selected group of federal employees throughout government via the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS). The FEVS measures employee engagement and workplace satisfaction and is completely voluntary. The FEVS feedback is essential to understanding employee satisfaction regarding career opportunities, leadership, performance management, diversity, and work-life programs.
2. This year, randomly selected Civilian Marines will be invited to participate in the survey from 11 May through 22 June 2017. Those invited to take the survey are strongly encouraged to participate and are assured that all responses will be kept confidential.
3. Results from the survey will assist the Marine Corps in measuring its progress in achieving the goals listed in the Civilian Workforce Strategic Plan (CWSP) published by the Commandant of the Marine Corps White Letter 01-16. Copies of the CWSP and the White Letter can be found at https:(forward slash)(forward slash)www.manpower.usmc.mil (forward slash)civilianmarine. Additionally, the results can be separated by, and shared with Marine Corps Major Commands to support local efforts in improving engagement and satisfaction for Civilian Marines.
4. Employees randomly selected to participate will receive an email invitation with specific instructions on how to complete the survey online. In the event there are any questions regarding the receipt of an email invitation, recipients can contact Mr. John Paugh at 703-432-9420.
5. All supervisors and managers will support their employees by providing them time during normal working hours to complete the survey. The survey takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete.6. Commanders are required to announce the 2017 FEVS, encourage Civilian Marines selected to participate to complete the survey, and stress the impact employee survey responses will have toward making the Marine Corps the civilian employer of choice throughout the Department of Defense.
7. The POC for the FEVS is Mr. John Paugh. He can be reached via email at john.paugh(at)usmc.mil or by phone at 703-432-9420.
8. Released by Mr. J. W. Bearor, Assistant Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.//
