RMKS/1. Purpose. To provide clarification to policy regarding officers being provided meals while in an IDT status. This clarification to policy will be captured as part of the ongoing revisions to reference (c) and are forthcoming.
2.  Background. In accordance with reference (a) and (b), enlisted personnel in an IDT status qualify for rations in kind (meals), but officers do not. Reference (c) currently contradicts this and is being revised as part of the scheduled periodic revisions.
3.  For clarification, Officers who reside outside of the 50-mile radius do qualify for billeting during periods of IDT, but not unit provided meals.
4.  This clarification to policy is effective immediately.
5.  Questions concerning this topic can be directed to the POC above.
6.  Release authorized by Colonel J. M. Morrisroe, Director, Reserve Affairs Division, Acting.//
