GENTEXT/RMKS/1. On behalf of all Marines, it is my distinct pleasure to recognize the contributions, support and sacrifices of our military spouses. Spouses play a critical role in our operational readiness, and we are grateful for your innumerable contributions.
2.  In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated the Friday before Mothers Day as Military Spouse Appreciation Day in recognition of the important impact the military spouse has on the preparedness and well-being of our men and women in uniform. This year, on 12 May, we pause to honor our military spouses unwavering commitment to their families and country.
3.  Many thanks to all military spouses.  We appreciate who you are, what you do and your faithfulness to our Nation.
