GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  Provide overview of current IMR requirements for active and reserve component (AC and RC)
Marine Corps personnel and capability available to commanders to monitor compliance.
2.  Background.  As Americas ready force, we must be prepared to answer our nations call on a moments notice.  A units medical readiness is an integral component of a Marine units force health protection and a prime indicator of a Marine or Sailors fitness to deploy.  The Total Force Medically Ready (TFMR) category is composed of the Fully Medically Ready plus the Partially Medically Ready categories.  Effective immediately, the TFMR standard for the Marine Corps is 90 percent.  Additionally the Medical Readiness Indeterminate standard will be maintained at less than 5 percent. Finally, the Partially Medically Ready category will have a goal of 20 percent or less.
3.  Execution.  All commanders will ensure personnel are in compliance with requirements per REFS (A) and (B).
4.  Action.  Commanders will ensure widest dissemination of this message and compliance with policy.  Commanders will utilize all available resources to improve and strengthen their medical and dental readiness directed by this MARADMIN.
