GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This is an Installations and Logistics/Aviation coordinated message. Every year Marine Corps Fire and Emergency Services Departments compete with other departments across our sister services to determine the best units and personnel in the Department of Defense. Marine Corps Fire and Emergency Services Structural and Aircraft Rescue/Expeditionary Firefighting Departments continue to do a great job everyday protecting our warfighters aboard Marine Corps installations and deployed locations throughout the world.
2. I am pleased to announce and congratulate the following Marine Corps Fire and Emergency Services Department and military firefighter that have been singled out as the best in the Department of Defense. I would also like to recognize all of the units and individuals that were selected as 2016 Marine Corps award winners and went on to compete for the Department of Defense awards:

6. The continued commitment of our Marine Corps Fire and Emergency Services personnel is an example of the faithful commitment of all Marines (uniformed and civilian) and is deserving of our thanks. While the above award winners deserve special recognition, providing fire and emergency services is a team effort. Protecting our installations and deployed warfighters to ensure mission readiness is a responsibility we all share. Thank you for a job well done.
