SUBJ/20TH ANNIVERSARY OF LIFESTYLE INSIGHTS, NETWORKING, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS (L.I.N.K.S.) PROGRAM//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  On 1 September 2017, the L.I.N.K.S. program will begin a year of celebration for 20 years of empowering Marine Corps families!  L.I.N.K.S. began as a foundational program for spouses, turning knowledge into action.  Through the evolution of the program, L.I.N.K.S. now supports marines, spouses, extended family members, young children, and teens.  Participants gain knowledge, friendships, and understanding that has been proven to stay with them throughout their time in the Marine Corps, and after.  On behalf of all marines, thank you, to all current and past L.I.N.K.S. volunteers for your steadfast support of marines, sailors, and families since 1997.
2.  For the past 20 years, L.I.N.K.S. has acted as a force multiplier.  Information on the history of the Corps, advice on thriving during deployment, and tips on relocation has had a positive impact on Marine Corps families managing the challenges of the military lifestyle.  Additionally, valuable information regarding the many resources we offer has been shared, and awareness of their value has made the Marine Corps stronger than ever.
3.  Through the L.I.N.K.S. program we have fostered a sense of community by way of networking and have enhanced the skills of those who have participated.  We have increased the L.I.N.K.S. volunteer network across the Marine Corps and have encouraged marines, and spouses to use their knowledge and experience to mentor others in order to build stronger Marine Corps communities.
4.  As you celebrate this anniversary - honoring your past while shaping your future - may the rich heritage of L.I.N.K.S. continue to strengthen Marine Corps families and encourage a community of friendships, learning, and sharing of lessons learned.
5.  Happy anniversary and semper fidelis, Robert B. Neller, General, U.S. Marine corps, Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
