GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Situation. Joint-service professional development opportunities for enlisted Marines are limited. However, Marine Corps University, with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has established a long-term relationship with the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (NAVSEA) resulting in a controlled number of seats for the Marine Corps. This academy is located at Naval Station (NS) Newport, Rhode Island (RI). The NAVSEA conducts an intense 12-week course with a curriculum focused in the following core areas: Leadership, Communications, Organizational Behavior, National and International Studies.
2. Mission. The Director and Deputy Director, Senior Enlisted Academy will manage quotas and coordinate the attendance of qualified Marines to NAVSEA.
