GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  On behalf of all Marines, I congratulate the men and women of the Navy Medical Department on your 175th birthday.
2.  Since 1842, the Navy Medical Department has provided world-class care in garrison and while forward deployed.  Whether serving with Marine Corps Expeditionary Forces, on ships, in military treatment facilities or in research labs, Navy Medicine units stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Marines in combat.  They are the first to answer the call in support of disaster relief and humanitarian assistance missions that impact the lives of thousands of people when they are most in need of healthcare.
3.  Pride, professionalism, and readiness are as much the hallmarks of Navy Medicine today as in 1842.  You have built a legacy of exceptional combat support, selfless sacrifice and commitment to our Naval Services and our country.
4.  Marines and their families know Navy Medicine stands ready to support us in any mission.  On behalf of our entire Marine Corps family, I extend deepest thanks for your service and dedication.  We are proud to serve alongside all Medical, Dental, Nurse, and Medical Services personnel.
