GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Happy 242nd Anniversary to the world's greatest Navy!  On behalf of all Marines, I congratulate you on 242 years of exceptional service to our Nation.
2.  Since its founding on 13 October 1775, the U.S. Navy has consistently and honorably answered our Nation's call at home and abroad.  Whether providing sea, air and special operations support in combat, tending to medical and spiritual needs in the field, constructing valuable infrastructure, or conducting humanitarian relief operations, U.S. Sailors set the standard for courage and dedication.  Marines take great pride in our shared history.  We are honored to serve alongside you in promoting security and building strategic partnerships around the globe.  As our Nation and the international community continue to face existing and emerging threats, Marines are grateful to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the finest maritime force.
