GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Per reference (a), on 11 July 2017, Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) rendered decisions on Uniform Board Number 217.
2.  CMC decisions are detailed below.
2.A.  Agenda Itema A:  Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Breast Insignia.
2.A.1.  Recommendation:  Authorize UAS officer and enlisted operator breast insignia for wear on Marine Corps uniforms.
2.A.2.  CMC Decision:  Approved.  Fielding information will be published via separate correspondence (SEPCOR).
2.B.  Agenda Item B:  Tucking the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU) blouse into the trousers.
2.B.1.  Recommendation:  Authorize commanders to direct the MCCUU blouse be tucked into the MCCUU trousers in a neat manner, when doing so will enable Marines to deploy and employ mission critical equipment (e.g., Military Police belt, duty belt, pistol belt).
2.B.2.  CMC Decision:  Approved.
2.C.  Agenda Item C:  Officer grade insignia placement
2.C.1.  Recommendation:  Change the placement guidance for the officer (Colonel through Warrant Officer) grade insignia so that the long axis of the bars, stems, and wings is parallel (perpendicular for Colonels) to the bottom edge of the open MCCUU blouse and khaki shirt collars.
2.C.2.  CMC Decision:  Approved.
2.C.3.  Effective immediately, paragraphs 4005.3.c. 2-4 of reference (b) is changed to read.
2.C.3.A.  Colonels rank insignia will be worn on both sides of the khaki shirt and MCCUU blouse with the head of the eagle toward the top of the collar facing to the front, with the wings perpendicular to the front edge of the collar.
2.C.3.B.  Field grade rank insignia will be worn with the stem toward the bottom of the collar and the line from the tip to the stem parallel to the front edge of the collar.  When the shirt collar is buttoned up the insignia will be parallel to the collar edge, as depicted in figure 4-12.
2.C.3.C.  Company grade rank insignia will be worn with the long axis of the bars parallel to front edge of the collar.  When the shirt collar is buttoned up the insignia will be parallel to the collar edge, as depicted in figure 4-12.
2.D.  Agenda Item D:  Watch cap, MCCUU gloves, and inserts.
2.D.1.  Recommendation:  Add the watchap, MCCUU gloves and inserts to the seabag and minimum requirement list making them personally owned and maintained items, vice organizationally issued items.
2.D.2.  CMC Decision:  Approved.  Mandatory possession dates and fielding instructions will be published via SEPCOR.
2.E.  Agenda Item E:  Combat Instructor supplemental allowances modification.
2.E.1.  Recommendation:  Add one additional pair of hot weather Marine Corps Combat Boots (MCCB) to the School of Infantry (SOI) East/West and Enlisted Instructor Company, The Basic School, Combat Instructor supplementary allowances.  Additionally, change the SOI East/West Combat Instructor supplemental allowances to reflect one pair of temperate weather MCCBs (instead of Rugged All Terrain Boots).
2.E.2.  CMC Decision:  Approved.
