GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Commandant of the Marine Corps congratulates the following individuals for their selections as the recipients of the 2017 United States Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program for the categories as indicated.  As specified in Reference B, an annual awards board was convened to review nominations from throughout the Marine Corps and select award recipients.  All Marines nominated are deserving of congratulations and rate special recognition.
2.  The winners are indicated by listing the award, winner and nominating command.
  2.A.  Ammunition Officer of the Year Award winner is Capt William J Rulli, MARCENT.
  2.B.  Ammunition Technician Staff Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award winner is Staff Sergeant Alexander Long V, PM-Ammo, MARCORSYSCOM.
  2.C.  Ammunition Technician Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award winner is Sergeant Meagan M. Swick, Headquarters Company, 1st MLG.
  2.D.  Ammunition Technician of the Year Award winner is Corporal Mark A. Torres, 2d Bn 10th Mar Reg, 2d Mar Div.
3.  The sponsor for this year’s award is the Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCA).  The recipients will be honored during an awards reception at the Hilton Garden Inn Woodbridge, Virginia on 23 May 2018.
4.  This year’s award selection process was challenging due to the highly competitive nominees for each category.  Commands are encouraged to continue to nominate individuals that they feel best represent the ammunition community.  It was apparent that all those nominated are deserving of our respect and rate special recognition.  Congratulations to all nominees.
