GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN summarizes updates to Defense Readiness Reporting System-Marine Corps (DRRS-MC) scheduled for 29 March 2018.
2.  DRRS-MC updates will include unit of employment reporting enhancements and improved navigation in the system using hyperlinks.
3.  Unit of employment (UE) reporting stage two.
3.A.  UE reporting provides readiness data on the manning, equipment, training, and deployment status of subordinate units in DRRS-MC.  This capability will allow readiness reporting on units below the unit identification code (UIC) level (e.g. platoons, detachments, and teams).  These small units are codified in table 7-1 of Ref A for each unit type in the MAGTF.
3.B.  The same reporting procedures apply to these updated UE’s.  Users will report UE’s manning, equipment, training, and deployed status and provide a comment on their overall status.  The following definitions are provided to clarify Ref A instructions and are also found in DRRS-MC in a rollover message on the subordinate unit page.
3.B.1.  A manned UE is defined as a unit that is manned to accomplish core tasks.  This requires at least 80 percent of billets filled with MOS qualified deployable personnel.
3.B.2.  An equipped UE is defined as a unit that is equipped with the on hand, combat ready equipment required to accomplish core tasks.  For ground units, this requires at least 80 percent of equipment on hand, with 70 percent of that equipment being mission capable.  For flying squadrons, this requires at least 80 percent of aircraft (A/C) in-reporting status, with 60 percent of A/C reporting as mission capable.
3.B.3.  A trained UE is defined as a unit that is trained to accomplish 70 percent of its core tasks.
3.B.4.  For deployed UE’s, reporting units will continue to assess their manning, equipment, and training.  Deployed UE’s are visually highlighted in DRRS-MC with an orange outline.
3.B.5.  The subordinate unit page provides a visual representation of UE readiness.  A ready UE displays as green and is manned, equipped, and trained to standard.  A partially ready UE displays as yellow and meets two of three assessment criteria.  A not ready UE displays as red and consists of zero to one assessment criteria.
3.C.  Action by reporting units:  Provide a readiness assessment of all UE’s contained on the subordinate unit page.
4.  Improved navigation in DRRS-MC using hyperlinks.
4.A.  The view reports page will include embedded links to quickly take users to specific portions of a report.  On the view reports page, the mission assessment, core and assigned levels, personnel (P), equipment (S), equipment condition (R), and training (T) ratings will be selectable and provide a direct link to that portion of the report.  The status description on the view report page will also provide a link to the basic unit information page for in-progress reports and the commander summary page for submitted reports.
4.B.  DRRS-MC will retain its original capability to open in-progress and submitted reports using the view/edit report button.
5.  DRRS-MC will update on Thursday, 29 March from 1800 to approximately 2000 Eastern Standard Time (EST).  Users will not be able to access DRRS-MC while the system is updating.
6.  Way Ahead.  The March updates to DRRS-MC are part of an enduring effort to improve the breadth, reliability, and utility of USMC readiness data.  The Plans, Policies, and Operations Readiness Branch and MARFOR and MEF readiness offices are prepared and capable of providing any additional support.  Commanders and units are encouraged to provide additional recommendations to strengthen service readiness policy and improve the accuracy and reliability of readiness reporting.
7.  Release authorized by Lieutenant General Brian D. Beaudreault, Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies, and Operations.//
