GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration's Capabilities Development Directorate (CDD) and the Air Land Sea Application (ALSA) Center have published the revised MCRP 3-30.4 [formerly MCWP 3-36.1], CONVENTIONAL FORCES AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS FORCES INTEGRATION, INTEROPERABILITY, AND INTERDEPENDENCE, dated 04 April 2018.  MCRP 3-30.4 may be downloaded via the USMC doctrine website at https:(slash)(slash)homeport.usmc.mil/sites/mcdoctrine/SitePages/Home.aspx.  The publication can also be found on the ALSA website at http:(slant)(slant)www.alsa.mil.
2.  Background.  This publication (CF-SOF) is a multi-service tactics, techniques, and procedures (MTTP) publication which provides a comprehensive reference for commanders and staffs at the operational and tactical levels with standardized techniques and procedures to assist in planning and executing operations requiring integration between conventional forces (CF) and special operations forces (SOF) occupying the same area of operation.  This MTTP publication serves as a reference to ensure coordinated multi-service operations for CF and SOF to achieve unity of effort, reduce the potential for fratricide, and achieve the JFC's objectives.  A checklist to summarize pertinent planning issues is included.  Information in this MTTP incorporates tactics, techniques, and procedures extracted from existing service and joint doctrine publications and directives, subject matter expert input, and other identified best practices.
3.  Coordinating Instructions.  Reference (A) details steps required to request hard copies of this publication.  Units associated with the publication's distribution list will be receiving printed copies of MCRP 3-30.4 via the Marine Corps Publications Distribution System (MCPDS).  Units not receiving copies or desiring additional print allocations must follow procedures identified in Ref (A), coordinating with their internal S-1 or admin sections.  For MCPDS ordering purposes, the publication control number for CF-SOF is 144 000263 00.  Hard copies of this publication should be available for ordering via MCPDS within 10 to 12 weeks of the date of this MARADMIN.
