GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This Marine Administrative Message announces the establishment of the Force Fitness Unit Award Program for outstanding unit performance on the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT).
2. As part of the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) vision to enhance physical fitness, the Force Fitness Division (FFD) will present a unit award to recognize the command with the highest combined performance for the PFT and CFT. This award is intended to recognize a command's emphasis on enhanced physical fitness and combat readiness.
3. O-5 level commands are eligible for this award. No submissions are required. The first award will be based on the calendar year (CY) 2017 CFT and CY 2018 PFT. Subsequent awards will follow in the same manner. The command with the highest combined average PFT and CFT score will be presented a trophy at the annual CMC awards ceremony.
4. Unit score will be determined by averaging the combined PFT and CFT scores of all uniformed Marine personnel together for a composite unit score.
5. The combined average unit PFT/CFT score will include all personnel on the unit's roster and will include partial scores. Personnel that do not complete the PFT or CFT due to limited/light duty or for other reasons (not including pregnant or post-partum Marines) will count as a zero when averaging the unit's scores together. Regardless of the composite score, a command is not eligible for the unit level award if any Marine within the command fails the PFT or CFT.
6. Any additional information will be published on the FFD website at fitness.marines.mil. Questions regarding these awards should be directed to the FFD organizational email: tecom.forcefitness@usmc.mil.
7. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
8. Release authorized by Lieutenant General Robert S. Walsh, Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat and Development Command.//
