GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Background.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to provide an update for follow-on education and credentialing opportunities for the Force Fitness Instructors (FFIs).
2. Marine Corps Credentialing Opportunities Online (COOL) provides extensive resources on certifications and licenses related to Marines’ jobs and military occupational specialties (MOSs). The credential requirements bridge potential gaps between military training and civilian credentialing.  The Marine Corps COOL program pays for costs associated with initial credential attainment and maintaining and renewing the credential.  COOL is a component of the Department of the Navy credentialing effort and the ongoing commitment to Marines and Sailors in providing training, experience, and opportunities that will serve them well on active duty, and as future veterans pursuing civilian careers.
3. As of 24 September 2018, COOL has authorized credentialing funding for all FFIs (0919).  Credentialing agencies include, National Council on Strength and Fitness, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and National Council for Certified Personal Trainers.
4. Marine Corps COOL is a resource for FFIs who want:
4.a. To know what civilian credentials relate to the FFI MOS and how to obtain them.
4.b. To distinguish themselves through growth in the force fitness occupational field or to enhance their transition readiness.
4.c. Education, career, and transition advisors providing guidance on education, personal and professional development, and career requirement opportunities.
5. FFIs can access and view the available credentials at the following website: https:(slash)(slash)www.cool.navy.mil/usmc/enlisted/ffi.htm.
6. Questions on Marine Corps COOL opportunities for FFIs can be addressed through the Marine Corps COOL "contact us" (linked in the website footer), "COOL program" addressed in the global address list, email:  usmc_cool_program@usmc.mil, or the POC telephone number listed above.
7. This MARADMIN is applicable to FFIs across the Marine Corps Total Force.
8. Release authorized by M. C. Balocki, Director, Marine and Family Programs Division.//
