Grissom's honorary commanders: part 6

John Stackhouse is this year's honorary command chief for the 434th Air Refueling Wing.

Mr. Stackhouse currently serves as a financial consultant for Bloomington Motor Carriers, Bloomington, Ind., His business career began in 1963 after graduating from the University of Indianapolis and accepting a position with the accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst in Indianapolis.

In 1966, he moved to Lake Central Airlines as the accounting manager. He the then joined Nixon Newspaper in Peru, Ind., as the chief financial officer and later did consulting work for several companies before accepting his current position with Bloomington Motor Carriers.

1962: Bachelor of science degree in accounting and economics, University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis
Current: Post graduate studies towards a MBA at Butler University, Indianapolis

Additional Information
John has been a member of the Grissom Community Council since 1990 and has twice served as its president. He currently serves as the GCC's secretary. He has also served as the president of various organizations including the Peru Chamber of Commerce (twice), the Peru Economic Development Corporation and the Peru Rotary Club. He is a former board member of the Grissom Air Museum and his military experience includes service in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Grissom ARB is one of only five Air Force Reserve Command bases in the nation and is home to reserve units from the Air Force, Army Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve. The host unit is the 434th Air Refueling Wing which is equipped with a fleet of KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft.
