GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Congratulations to all the nominees for the 2018 Logistcs Excellence Awards.
2.  The Marine Corps Installations and Logistics Awards Program (MCILAP) recognizes distinguished performance of individuals and units/organizations within the Operating Forces (OPFOR), Supporting Establishment (SE), and Marine Corps Reserve, who have made significant contributions to the Installations and Logistics (I and L) community and embody the Marine Corps core values of honor, courage, and commitment.  The below recipients were selected from a highly competitive group of Marine and Civilian Marine nominees.
3.  I am pleased to announce the following 2018 Logistics Excellence Award selectees:
3.A.  First Lieutenant Travis Manion Marine Corps Officer Logistician of the Year: 1stLt Jamar R. Alexander, 3d Transportation Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Travis Manion Award honors a Marine Officer for outstanding contributions to the Marine Corps Logistics mission.
3.B.  Marine Corps Enlisted Logistician of The Year: GySgt Alexander J. Tobusch, 3d Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Raider Regiment, Marine Forces Special Operations Command.  This award honors a Marine NCO/SNCO for outstanding contributions to the Marine Corps Logistics mission.
3.C.  Marine Corps Civilian Logistician of the Year: Mr. Harold W. Melching, Logistics Services Management Center, Marine Corps Logistics Command. This award honors a Civilian Marine for outstanding contributions to the Marine Corps Logistics mission.
3.D.  Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (Large Unit): 2d Transportation Support Battalion,  Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2d Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force.  This award recognizes excellence in mission execution and outstanding contributions of a large unit in support of the Marine Corps Logistics mission.
3.E.  Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (Small Unit): Task Force Lion, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Forces Pacific Command.  This award recognizes excellence in mission execution and outstanding contributions of a small unit in support of the Marine Corps Logistics mission.
3.F.  Marine Corps Logistics Organization of the Year for Innovation: 1st Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force. This award recognizes an organization that performed special acts of noteworthy leadership and technological innovation in the Logistics domain.
4.  Commands will ensure that an official photo and points of contact information to include name, rank, email, address, and work phone number are submitted for individual awardees via email to il_award_nominations@usmc.mil, with courtesy copy to the message POC no later than 8 March 2019.
4.a.  Commands will appoint a representative for each unit award who will serve as the primary POC responsible for submitting the organization/team alpha roster. The roster will include the name and rank of all unit members assigned to the receiving organization during FY18. Email submissions to il_award_nominations@usmc.mil, with courtesy copy to the message POC no later than 8 March 2019.
5.  The Logistics Excellence Award selectees will be honored on 28 March 2019 by the Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics at the Pentagon. Award selectees will also be recognized at the Annual Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCAF) Logistics Excellence Awards Dinner on the night of 28 March 2019 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA.
5.A.  Awardee attire for the award presentations at the Pentagon is MARPAT utilities for military members, and business casual for civilians.
5.B.  Awardee and participant attire for the MCAF Awards Dinner is service alphas with ribbons and badges for Marines (or service equivalent as appropriate), and business formal (suit and tie) for civilians.
5.C  HQMC I and L will provide travel and hotel funding for award recipients to attend the ceremony and dinner. MCAF will provide travel and hotel funding for one non-DoD relative of each award recipient to attend the ceremony. HQMC I and L and MCAF will provide travel coordinating instructions via separate correspondence.
5.D.  Others wishing to attend must make reservations via the Marine Corps Association website at www.mca-marines.org. To register from this site select programs/events and select register/view schedule of events and follow the on screen instructions. 5.E  For other attendees the attire is civilian semi-formal (coat and tie). Dinner cost is 65 dollars per person for MCAF members and 107 dollars per person for non-MCAF members.  Please note that active duty Service Members may attend at no cost, but must register via the website above to receive free entrance and dinner.
