GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Enlisted Retention Section (MMEA-1) of the Enlisted Assignment Branch at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps will host a cross functional working group.
2. The working group will be held from 14 May 2019 to 16 May 2019 at the Marsh Center, Building 3280, aboard MCB Quantico, Virginia.
2.a. The travel dates will be 13 May 2019 for OCONUS travelers and travel departure date will be 17 May 2019 for all travelers.
3. The working group is intended for the below listed Major Subordinant Command Career Planner SNCOICS and their assistants.
3.a. Once Major Subordinant Command Career Planners have confirmed attendance by the no later than date 14 March 2019, Unit Career Planners may request to attend. The working group will not exceed 60 total attendees.
3.b. Major Subordinant Commands: MARFORPAC, MARFORCOM, MARFOREUR, MARFORK, MARFORRES, MARFORSOC, I MEF, II MEF, III MEF, 1ST MAW, 2D MAW, 3D MAW, 4TH MAW, 1ST MARDIV, 2D MARDIV, 3D MARDIV, 4TH MARDIV, 1ST MLG, 2D MLG, 3D MLG, 4TH MLG, MCCDC, MCIPAC, MCIEAST, MCIWEST, TECOM, CAREER PLANNER SCHOOL, WRR, ERR, AND LOGCOM.
4. The working group will be amplified through a series of informational briefs and guided discussions concluding in viable courses of action that present the most effective and efficient method to retain the most qualified Marines within the constraints of evolving manpower requirements.
5. Funding for working group participation is the responsibility of the attendees parent command.
5.a. Government messing is not available.
5.b. Billeting has been reserved for 40 attendees at the Inns of the Corps Quantico. All attendees must confirm reservations by calling (703) 630-4444 prior to 15 Apr 2019 and should identify themselves as part of the Career Planner Working Group.
5.c. Limited government transportation will be available; however, it is recommended that the career planners traveling from the same geographical locations share rental car expenses whenever feasible. All efforts should be made to reduce costs associated with the working group.
5.d. Uniform for the working group is the Marine Corps Woodland MARPAT Combat Utility Uniform.
6. Major Subordinant Commands should identify attendees NLT 4 March 2019 via email to MGySgt Bird (donald.g.bird@usmc.mil) and MSgt Helms (wesley.helms@usmc.mil) using the following format:
6.a. Rank
6.b. Name
6.c. Unit
6.d. DSN/COMM Phone
6.e. Email Address. A confirmation of receipt will be sent in response. Unit Career Planners requesting any remaining available seats will submit after 4 March 2019, but NLT 8 March 2019 via email using the format above.
6.f. Marines who fail to provide all the necessary information by the deadlines above will not be considered to attend.
