GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This message announces the schedule and solicitation for the CY19 Federal Express (FedEx) Express - Global Logistics Summit (GLOS) hosted by FedEx from 29 April to 3 May 2019.
2.  Background.  The Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Fellow at FedEx in coordination with FedEx Express, DC Aviation, and DC I and L, has arranged a three-day summit at the FedEx World Headquarters located at 3610 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN 38125. The theme this year is Logistics and Innovation.  The purpose of this summit is to familiarize Marines and Civilians with the agile nature of FedEx logistics and supply chain operations and the innovations supporting that cause.  Participants will gain a deeper understanding of FedEx logistics operations and capabilities in support of the Department of Defense.  The summit will expose Marines to innovation being leveraged by a highly successful corporation.  The events and presentation topics include, but are not limited to, FedEx Express logistics operations, innovation, supply chain operations, and leadership.
3.  The target audience is personnel who are serving in Logistics operations, Supply Chain Management, Maintenance, and Innovation positions and are actively engaging in idea exchanges with a vested interest in the topics.  Special consideration will be taken for nominees outside the target audience if they are endorsed by their command via an email with additional justification in the request.
3.a.  Enlisted:  Gunnery Sergeant (E-7) to Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9).
3.b.  Civilian:  Government Service (GS-11) to (GS-15) employees.
3.c.  Officers:  Chief Warrant Officers (CWO2-CWO5), and Captains (O-3) to Colonel (O-6).
4.  Summit participation is limited.  Selection will be made by a panel of representatives from DC I and L, DC A, FedEx and the USMC FedEx Fellow.  Participant selection will focus on ensuring appropriate representation of experienced personnel from across the Marine Corps.  Individuals that have retirement dates or plan on executing an upcoming EAS should not apply.  Day 3 of the summit is designed to provide aviation specific topics.  Individuals that are not interested in these topics may depart after Day 2 concludes.

9.  Following the summit, the FedEx Fellow will provide a summary of insights, observations, and opportunities based on information collected during the daily Hot Washes.
10.  All Summit-associated costs and travel are Unit-funded.
Participants commands are responsible for funding and travel details of their Marines/Civilian members.
11.  Transportation to and from the Memphis International airport on Travel Days is not provided.  FedEx will provide transportation for Summit attendees between the recommended lodging facilities and FedEx facilities in direct support of Summit events.
