REMARKS/1. On 10 September 2018, Commandant of the Marine Corps approved changes to reference (a), directing that certain units will incorporate the execution of a forced march training event into their Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation (MCCRE). Reference (a) was approved on 25 February 2019.
1.a. Infantry Regiments, Infantry Battalions, Reconnaissance Battalions and Force Reconnaissance Companies, or units assigned a Provisional Infantry Battalion mission will execute the training and readiness (TandR) event INF-COND-7001 or INF-COND-8001 "Conduct a forced march" (as applicable) into the MCCRE as follows:
1.a.1. Carry an Assault Load of 70 pounds (lbs) (+/-10 percent) with additional organic weapons and mission essential equipment, move 32 kilometers (km) in a time limit of 8 hours, with 95 percent of the force remaining mission capable.
1.a.2. The forced march will culminate and transition directly into an evaluated tactical exercise to test the unit's ability to execute an extended foot movement under load and remain combat effective.
1.b. Remaining ground combat element (GCE) units (Division Headquarters Battalion, Artillery Regiments, Artillery Battalions, Assault Amphibian Battalions, Combat Engineer Battalions, Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalions, Tank Battalions, along with Air and Naval Gunfire Liaison Companies, and Low Altitude Air Defense Battalions) will execute the TandR event MCCS-COND-1003 "Conduct a forced march" as follows:
1.b.1. Carry a Fighting Load of 55 lbs. (+/-10 percent) with organic weapons and mission essential equipment, move 15 km. in a time limit of 4 hours, with 95 percent of the force remaining mission capable.
1.b.2. The forced march will be integrated as part of the MCCRE, but may be conducted as a stand alone event.
1.b.3. Elements of non-infantry GCE units attached to the Infantry (specifically Combat Engineers Line Companies/Platoons, Fire Support Teams and Forward Observers) will execute the respective Infantry TandR event with the Infantry unit (Regiment or Battalion) to which they are attached.
2. Commanding General, Training and Education Command approved changes to the TandR manuals (references (b) thru (h)) on 19 November 2018. The events contained in these TandR manuals are the prescribed training requirements for all personnel in the specific communities.
