GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The assignment of officers to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) requires high caliber individuals for positions that support the accession of junior officers into the Naval service.  During the month of Dec 2019, a panel comprised of staff from MMOA and USNA will select officers for assignment to billet vacancies during FY20.
2.  Eligibility requirements
2.a.  Time on station (TOS).  Officers who will complete their prescribed tour, on their current set of orders, NLT 1 August 2020 are eligible.  If an officer does not meet this requirement, the officer must contact their primary MOS (PMOS) monitor to discuss waiver submission requirements.
2.b.  Grade.  Officers who are promoted, selected, or in zone for the solicited billet openings are eligible to apply.
2.c.  Officers who meet the TOS and grade requirements must also have:
2.c.1.  Excellent military appearance.
2.c.2.  Consistent first class PFT and CFT.
2.c.3.  PMOS credibility and experience.
2.c.4.  No adverse material.
2.c.5.  Career timing that supports a full 36 month tour at USNA.
3.  Application process.
3.a.  Interested officers must first contact their PMOS monitor,
for approval to screen on the panel for assignment to USNA.
3.b.  Upon receipt of approval to screen by the PMOS monitor, officers are encouraged to visit https(slash)(slash)www.usna.edu/USMC/index.php to download and submit the USNA staff application.  The approval correspondence from the PMOS monitor is a prerequisite for submission of the application.  If unable to download the application, contact the USNA POC listed below.
3.c.  The deadline for application submission is 22 Nov 2019.
4.  Projected FY20 billet vacancies:
4.a.  USNA, Annapolis, MD.
4.a.1.  8006, LtCol, Marine Detachment Chief of Staff; serve as Chief of Staff and Assistant to the Senior Marine Representative of USNA.  Facilitate and supervise the accession of midshipmen into the Marine Corps.  Post-command and prior USNA or recruiting experience preferred.
4.a.2.  8006, Capt-Maj, Associate Director, Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership; serve as consultant and instructor to external and internal military, government and civilian agencies for leadership training and development.
4.a.3.  Two 4402, Capt, Military Law and Ethics Instructors.
4.a.4.  Two 8006, Capt-Maj, Political Science Instructors.  FAO/RAO experience or Masters degree in related subject required.
4.b.  Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), Newport, RI.
4.b.1.  8006, Capt, Company Officer; serve as the officer advisor to a midshipman candidate company.
4.c.  United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY.
4.c.1.  8006, Capt, Marine Liaison Officer; serve as the liaison for all Marine Corps  accession topics pertaining to USMMA, to include the development, training and mentorship of all USMMA Marine Corps officer applicants.  Post company-level command preferred.  Must be able to report for duty NLT 1 January, 2020.
5.  MMOA will release selection results via MARADMIN after the panel concludes.
