GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This Thanksgiving holiday, I encourage you to reflect on the blessings of the past year, and to enjoy well-deserved time with family and friends.  As you celebrate, keep our forward-deployed Marines and their families in your thoughts.
2.  Please be aware that the Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most dangerous periods for travel.  Stay alert and make wise choices.  Our nation and our Corps need you to return from every holiday break safe and ready to carry out any mission.  Leaders, discuss holiday plans with your Marines.  Effective leadership is the decisive factor to ensure the safety of our Marine family.  Take care of one another.
