GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This calling message announces the convening of the Health, Wellness and Fitness Summit.
2.  The Health, Wellness and Fitness Summit will be sponsored by The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps on 3 - 7 February 2020 in MARSOC HQ, in Stone Bay (RR-400) Camp Lejeune, NC.

3.  Background.  The topic of Health, Wellness and Fitness is aligned to the Commandant's Planning Guidance and supported by the Commandant of the Marine Corps as an area where he desires the senior enlisted of the Corps to provide guidance and recommendations.
4.  Purpose.  The purpose of the summit will be to review and make recommendations on improving the integration of the myriad programs, organizations and agencies related to the health, fitness and wellness of Marines.
5.  End State.  To provide a comprehensive assessment and make recommendations on programs, organizations and agencies that support the health, fitness and wellness of Marines.  The outcome of dialogue and breakout sessions during this symposium will serve to inform decisions by the CMC.  As such, commands are directed to send representation commensurate with executive level program knowledge and decision making.
6.  Tasks.  Submit names of attendees via email to SgtMaj Rodriguez (see POC above) NLT 10 January 2020.
7.  Administration and Logistics.  This summit will be conducted from 3 - 7 February 2020 at MARSOC HQ, Stone Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC.  Travel days are 2 February and 8 February 2020.
7.a.  Invited personnel are required to submit a visitors request via the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) with the security management office code 209006; the POC for this request is MSgt Roque Perez at roque.perez@socom.mil or Sgt Issac Kim Issac at issac.kim@socom.mil.
7.b.  The uniform for this summit is the Woodland MARPAT with sleeves down and business casual attire for civilian attendees.
7.c.  Funding.  Funding is the responsibility of individual commands.  A non-reimbursable fee will be collected from all attendees participating in the summit.  This fee covers costs for refreshments throughout the summit.
7.d.  A detailed schedule will be provided to summit members.
7.e.  Announcements, schedules, and Read-A-Head material will be uploaded to the SMMC Summit SharePoint page.  Access to the SMMC Summit SharePoint page will be approved upon confirmation of attendees.
