GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is an annual educational program sponsored by the U.S.  Senate and funded by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. This program provides 104 high school students, who are interested in pursuing public service careers, the opportunity to learn firsthand about the functions of government.  Reference (a) solicited nominations for mentors in support of the 2020 USSYP.  The USMC convened a selection board that nominated the top 16 Marine applicants to be further boarded by the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (OATSD (PA)).  OATSD (PA) held a board, comprised of all branches of service, to select 17 officers for participation in this year’s program.  Competition was extremely high this year.
2.  The following five (5) officers were selected to represent the Marine Corps at this year’s program:
    A.  Senior Military Mentor:
       1. Major YuWynn E. Ho, (Marine Corps Installations National Capital Region, Quantico, VA).
    B.  Military Mentor Team:
       1. Captain Michelle L. Chadwick, (Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Quantico, VA).
       2. Captain Eugene J. Yang, (Defense Information Systems Agency, Ft. George G. Meade, MD).
    C.  Military Mentor Alternates:
       1. Major Amanda B. Martin, (DOD Inspector General, Alexandria, VA).
       2. Captain Khari K. Ford, (Public Works Department, Headquarters and Support Battalion, MCRD P.I., SC).
       3. The officers who submitted an application for this program are applauded for their commitment to the education and mentorship of our nation's youth, and those selected are deserving of recognition for their qualifications as mentors in this program.
