GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics is pleased to announce the results for the FY-2019 Marine Corps awards for logistics excellence and the Logistics Excellence Awards Dinner. This event recognizes the achievements of the Corps’ top performing logisticians and organizations during the 2019 fiscal year. The following individuals and units will be recognized in the Pentagon on 26 March 2020 by the Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics. Additionally, all awardees will be invited by the Marine Corps Association and Foundation to attend the Logistics Excellence Awards Dinner, hosted by the Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCAF).
1.a. The First Lieutenant Travis Manion Marine Corps Officer Logistician of the Year is Captain Mackenzie K. Gage, 3d Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Raider Regiment, Marine Forces Special Operations Command.
1.b. The Marine Corps Enlisted Logistician of the Year is Sgt Carlos Mora, Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team Company Europe, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic.
1.c. The Marine Corps Civilian Logistician of the Year is Mr. Jay A. Maddox, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Training and Education Command.
1.d. The Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (large unit) is Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 2d Marine Logistics Group, Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic.
1.e. The Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (small unit) is Combat Logistics Detachment 34, 19.1 Logistics Command Element, Special Purpose MAGTF Crisis Response, Marine Corps Forces Central Command.
1.f. The Marine Corps Logistics Organization of the Year for Innovation is 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Fleet Marine Forces Pacific.
2. Congratulations to all of the awardees, Marines, Civilian Marines, and units who were nominated. The nominations received were truly exceptional and the competition was extraordinarily strong. Your individual and organizational achievements continue to reflect the highest standards of logistics excellence.
3. No later than 6 March 2020, commands are responsible for ensuring that their respective individual awardees submit an official photo and point of contact information to include name, rank, email address, and work phone number along with any other correspondence via email to the IandL organizational mailbox at il_award_nominations@usmc.mil. Additionally, the sender will courtesy copy this message's points of contact via email. Ensure the subject line identifies the nominee’s full name, rank, and award.
3.a. HQMC will provide funding for (2) command representatives per award category. Spouses of individual awardees are authorized to travel as well.
3.b. No later than 6 March 2020, the Marine Corps Logistics Organizations/Teams of the Year must submit primary point of contact information for who will represent the organization/team. Additionally, the sender will submit the organization/team alpha roster to include name and rank along with any other correspondence via email to the organizational mailbox at il_award_nominations@usmc.mil and courtesy copy this message's points of contact via email. Ensure the subject line identifies the organization/team’s full name and award.
4. The Logistics Excellence Awards Dinner hosted by MCAF will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia 22202 on 26 March 2020. A no-host cocktail hour will begin at 1800, with dinner served at 1900. Event attire is civilian informal (coat and tie) for attendees, service alphas with ribbons or equivalent for other Services, speakers and awardees. Attendees must make reservations via the Marine Corps Association website at www.mca-marines.org, select programs/events and select register/view schedule of events to register, or contact Sarah Cohen at 703-640-0174 or email s.cohen@mca-marines.org. HQMC I&L is not involved in the registration process, but please contact the POCs listed in this message for assistance in the event any issues should arise.
