POC/L.WILSON/MAJ/FEDEX EXPRESS WORLD HEADQUARTERS, CMC FELLOW/LAMONT.WILSON.OSV@FEDEX.COM/TEL: 901-434-2407//GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This message announces the CY20 Federal Express (FedEx) - Global Logistics Summit (GLOS) hosted by FedEx from 4 - 8 May 2020.
2.  Background.  The Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) fellow at FedEx in coordination with FedEx Express and Logistics Division, Headquarters Marine Corps has arranged a three-day summit at the FedEx World Headquarters located at 3610 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.  The purpose of this summit is to familiarize Marines and Civilians with FedEx operations, innovative initiatives, and logistics solutions.  Participants will gain an increased situational awareness of the FedEx-USMC partnership and a deeper understanding of FedEx logistics operations and capabilities in support of the Department of Defense.  The summit will expose Marines to the operational tempo, challenges, and solutions at a highly successful corporation in the logistics and distribution industry.  The events and presentation topics include FedEx operating companies, innovation, and logistics solutions.
3.  The target audience requirements are listed below:
3.a.  Enlisted:  Gunnery Sergeant (E-7) to Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9).
3.b.  Civilians:  Government Service (GS-11) to Government Service (GS-15).
3.c.  Officers:  Chief Warrant Officers (CWO2-CWO5), and Captains (O-3) to Colonel (O-6).
3.d.  Personnel representing expertise in logistics operations, supply chain management, maintenance, and innovation.
3.e.  Stakeholders who will fully participate in exchanging ideas.
3.f.  Special consideration will be made for nominees outside the above target audience.  They must be command-endorsed via email with an attached justificationin the request.
4.  Summit participation is NOT first-come, first-served.  Participant selection will focus on ensuring appropriate representation of experienced personnel from across the Marine Corps and will be conducted by the POCs.  Priority/Special consideration will be given to nominees who possess logistics MOS and/or are serving in logistics and innovation assignments.  Individuals with retirement dates or plan to execute an end of active service (EAS) should NOT apply. 
5.  Summit Overview: 4 - 8 May 2020: Night tours will be offered throughout the summit.
5.a.  4 May – Travel Day
5.b.  5 May – Day 1: Overview, FedEx operating companies, and FedEx Express tours
5.c.  6 May – Day 2: Innovative initiatives, DART facility tour
5.d.  7 May – Day 3: FedEx logistics solutions and leadership
5.e.  8 May – Travel Day
6.  The participation capacity is limited to fifty (50) personnel.  All summit-associated costs and travel are unit-funded.  No government lodging or messing are available.  Participant commands are responsible for funding and travel details of their Marines/Civilian members.
7.  Transportation:
7.a.  Transportation to and from the Memphis International Airport on travel days is NOT provided.
7.b.  FedEx will provide transportation for summit attendees between recommended lodging facilities and FedEx facilities in direct support of summit events.
7.c.  Recommended airport is Memphis International (MEM).
8.  Recommended lodging facilities are below:

9.  Summit attire for all participants is business casual, no military uniforms, no jeans during summit.

13.  Timeline.
13.a.  No later than 10 April 2020:  All nominees will be notified of selection status by a listed POC via the email address provided in the nomination form.
13.b.  No later than 17 April 2020:  Once the selected nominee has been notified, attendees will confirm they are available or unavailable to attend the summit.
13.c.  4 – 8 May 2020:  The 2020 USMC-FedEx Express GLOS commences.
