GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN announces the implementation of the Marine Corps Reserve Milestone Retention Survey.  The purpose of the survey is to capture the perspective of Reserve Marines in a drilling status who are two years out from reaching their Mandatory Drill Participation Stop Date (MDPSD).  The MDPSD is defined as the date a Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) Marine is no longer obligated to attend drills.  This date is based on terms of the original enlistment contract.  The information gathered from the retention survey and the exit survey as established per reference (a) will assist Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) by identifying the factors that influence retention and attrition within the Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR).  Marines are highly encouraged to participate in this survey.
2.  Target Population.  Marines with a Reserve Component Code of KA or K4 and eligible to transfer out of a drilling status within two years.
3.  Methodology.  The survey will be available online at https://go.max.gov/dod/reserveretention.  The survey can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.
4.  Unit Commanders.  Your support is critical to the success of this survey.  Marines who are eligible to complete the survey will receive an email notification from HQMC.  The survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete and the results will have a direct impact on HQMC policy initiatives.
5.  Release authorized by Major General H. G. Pratt, Director, Reserve Affairs Division.//
