GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The following is an update to MARADMIN 474/20.
2.  OUSD(I&S) provided additional guidance in an email on the use of equivalent training.  It supports the “DON SECDEF Directed OPSEC and Unauthorized Disclosure Training” and authorized it as an equivalent training option.
3.  The SECDEF memorandum provides two options, (1) use the CDSE web courses or (2) use component equivalent training.  The product that was placed on TWMS was developed by using the four student guides provided in the CDSE courses to ensure it met course objectives.  This adds another option for military, civilian and on-site contractors to meet the training requirement.
4.  DON’S SECDEF Directed OPSEC and Unauthorized Disclosure Training is located on the Total Workforce Management Services (TWMS) site https://mytwms.dc3n.navy.mil.  If TWMS-681499 is not presented upon log in, please click on the button labeled "ONLINE TRAINING AND NOTICES" (left side menu) then click on "ONLINE TWMS" (top center) and use the search for TWMS-681499.
5.  Military, Civilians, and on-site contractors (based on their transitory status) have access, and can complete this training.  THIS IS NOT A NEW REQUIREMENT! Those who have already completed training will NOT have to take this training. THIS IS ONLY AN ALTERNATIVE.
6.  For those who have already completed the training TWMS will let supervisors record training completions for direct reports, or super users (workforce managers) with the appropriate permissions to record for an entire Command.  There are also ways to upload spreadsheets, for instance, if you had a Command stand down for this, you could enter a thousand records at once.  There are even scanner guns available to scan the back of CAC to auto populate the spreadsheet.  You will have to work with your training manager or the TWMS team for additional details.
7.  Release authorized by SES Randy Smith, Assistant Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies and Operations (Security), Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps.//
