GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Academy Women will be hosting their first annual virtual Women in Leadership Distinguished Speakers Series (DSS) event on 17 September 2020.  This year’s theme is “Unraveling Unconscious Bias in the Workplace and Public Sphere.”  Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA) Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor a limited number of registration fees.
2.  The DSS are virtual and regional professional development events hosted online and in various locations nationwide.  Each DSS takes a deep dive into a specific issue area, industry and/or competency related to women’s leadership.  In partnership with premier institutions of higher learning and organizations committed to diversity and inclusion, the DSS brings together the Academy Women partners’ mutual commitments to promote women’s leadership in a diverse world, research, critical thinking and innovative problem-solving regarding issues related to women and girls.  Distinguished women leaders from around the world are expected to attend each DSS.  More information can be found on the Academy Women website at www.AcademyWomen.org.
3.  Commanders may authorize participation for Marines, Sailors, and civilians attached to their unit.  All Marine Corps funded participation must be coordinated through the MPE Branch.  Reservations will be given on a first-come first-served basis.
4.  To attend this event please email (via your Officer-In-Charge) your name, rank, email, unit, and duty station to the points of contact.
5.  Uniform of the day:  Service C.
6.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
