GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Background and General Guidance. This guidance is a Headquarters United States Marine Corps (HQMC) coordinated update.
1.a. Guidance contained herein rescinds previous Service mandate of a mandatory 14-day Restriction of Movement (ROM) for redeploying forces. In accordance with reference (a), redeploying ROM requirements shall be informed by risk based screening.
2. Updated guidance. All Service members redeploying, whether from a COVID-19 operational area or not, will undergo a risk-based screening to determine if a 14-day ROM is indicated, per reference (a).
2.a. If screening criteria indicates a 14-day ROM is required and mission requirements dictate a waiver, operational units may request that the Secretary of Defense waive this requirement. The 14-day ROM will be performed at a predetermined location to include home station, the Marine or Sailor’s residence, or other suitable domicile. For redeploying individual augmentees, coordination for ROM requirements, in accordance with screening criteria in reference (a), will be directed by M&RA and coordinated by respective MARFORs or parent commands. All redeploying Marine Corps civilian employees and contractors will be assessed to determine if a voluntary ROM is recommended. All other redeployment requirements in reference (b) remain in effect.
3. Administration.

3.b. Additional CDC COVID-19 updates are at https:(slash)(slash)www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
3.c. Additional post-deployment health requirements will comply with requirements outlined in reference (c).
4. Redeploying Marines and Sailors will be appropriately screened per reference (a) at the assigned place of duty or point of embarkation. At a minimum, this screening will consist of an assessment of exposure history, a temperature check, a check for COVID-19 signs and symptoms (e.g., fever, chills, rigors, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new smell and taste disorders, coughing, or shortness of breath), and review of any past COVID-19 testing results. A DoD healthcare provider must be available for consultation, if unable to directly administer the screening. An evaluation by a healthcare provider, including COVID-19 diagnostic testing if indicated, will be conducted for individuals with a fever or who indicate any affirmative responses to the screening questions. Symptomatic Service members will consult with a healthcare provider for further assessment and/or testing. Service members who meet the clinical case definition of a “probable” infection (absent a diagnostic test result) or who are confirmed COVID-19 positive during screening should be isolated per the isolation guidance in reference (a).
