GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN is a coordinated DC I, DC M&RA, and DC PP&O message which provides revised guidance to Ref (A) for Marine Corps personnel who hold a CAC expiring on or before September 30 2020.
2. BACKGROUND. In response to COVID-19, the Marine Corps remains committed to ensuring the health and safety of all personnel and beneficiaries and ensuring continued access to facilities, logical resources and all authorized benefits. Ref (B) outlines DoD policy in effect until June 30 2021 for ensuring the availability of ID cards while resuming operations at Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) sites and issues a directive that expired CACs will no longer be accepted past 30 September 2020, cancelling previous guidance.
3. IMPACT. During the period until new CAC is issued, expired CAC holders will not be able to cryptographically logon to the MCEN, access PKI-enabled resources and websites (e.g. MOL and GCSS-MC), digitally sign/encrypt email or read encrypted emails. Physical access to installations, Exchange, and Commissary services may be impeded.
