GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) conducts an intense six-week curriculum focused on the following core areas: Leadership and Professional Ethics, Communication Studies, Warfighting, and Joint Operations.
2. Mission. The SEA Director will conduct the Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education (SEPME) course at Quantico, Virginia in order to enhance the critical thinking adaptability necessary to function at the operational and strategic levels of war.
3. Execution
3.A. Dates for FY21 courses are:

3.B. Allocations for each course are as follows:

3.B.1. Major commands not listed above may nominate students by submitting an email via the appropriate chain of command to the SEA Director or sepme.3@usmcu.edu. Non-allocated nominations are accepted based on availability of seats.
3.B.2. Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) may nominate Marines in the grade of E-8 to attend the course in accordance with the above allocations. Due to limited school seats, nominees must be submitted through the Marines chain of command to the respective MARFOR Sergeant Major.
3.B.3. MARFOR Sergeants Major shall screen their applicants and select the most qualified Marines to attend.
3.B.4. Nominees must have all prerequisites listed in section 3.C. completed prior to submission by the MARFOR G-3. The SEA will enroll nominees into the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS). Any allocations not used by the submission deadline will be redistributed by the SEA Director. Any changes of registered students after the registration deadline will be communicated to the SEA Director by the MARFOR G-3. The SEA Director will manage all changes in MCTIMS.
3.C. Course prerequisites
3.C.1. All nominees must have completed Senior Enlisted Joint
Professional Military Education II located at https://jkodirect.jten.mil/.
3.C.2. First sergeants must have completed resident First Sergeants Course and the First Sergeant/Master Sergeant Regional Seminar. Master Sergeants must have completed First Sergeant/Master Sergeant Regional Seminar. The respective course completion codes must be reflected within Marine Corps Total Force System.
3.C.3. An active SECRET clearance, validated in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System and "owned" by the Marines parent command is required. Marines who do not possess an active SECRET clearance will not be accepted into the course due to classification of several classes.
3.C.4. Must be in compliance with Ht/Wt/PFT/CFT standards.
3.C.5. Sergeants major and master gunnery sergeants (including those that have been selected for promotion to either) are not eligible for nomination, nor are E-8s that have been passed twice for promotion.
4. Administration and Logistics
4.A. The following information must be submitted through the units MARFOR G-3 to the SEA Director or sepme.3@usmcu.edu for registration
into MCTIMS:
4.A.1. Course number
4.A.2. CID (M02KZ50)
4.A.3. Last name, First, Middle Initial, Electronic Data Interchange Personel Identifier and Military Occupational Specialty.
4.A.4. Rank and date of rank.
4.A.5. End of current contract.
4.B. All nominations must be received by the SEA no later than (NLT) the dates listed in paragraph 3.
4.C. Travel Orders and Funding
4.C.1. All attendees shall travel on reporting orders. Orders are the responsibility of the parent command and shall be processed in accordance with reference B.
4.C.2. Training and Education Command Formal Schools Training Support will fund travel and per diem to include lodging, meals, and incidental expenses for active component attendees.
4.C.3. Government quarters are directed. The government lodging facility aboard Quantico is Liversedge Hall. Group reservations have been made at Liversedge Hall for all FY 2021 SEPME Courses. Coordinating instructions will be provided within the Letter Of Instruction to all students upon verification of attendance. COVID specific guidance will be provided as part of official communication to all registered students.
4.D. All students will check-in wearing the appropriate seasonal service uniform and will report to the SEPME Course, Marine Corps University, Quantico, VA (Upshur Ave, Building 3078) NLT 0700 on the course convene date, with a paper copy of their orders.
4.E. Prior to arriving, students must read and become familiar with the following references: Marine Corps Operating Concept, MCDP 1 Warfighting, MCDP 2 Intelligence, MCDP 3 Expeditionary Operations, MCDP 4 Logistics, MCDP 5 Planning, MCDP 6 Command and Control, MCWP 5-10 Marine Corps Planning Process, and MCDP 7 Learning.
