GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Risk Management Information (RMI) Streamlined Incident Reporting, release two (SIR-2) is scheduled for release throughout the Naval Enterprise on 10 December 2020. SIR-2 adds an additional functionality in the form of supervisory reports designed to enable immediate supervisors to report events into the RMI system. These supervisory reports inform unit safety personnel of the event, further investigation, and official mishap reporting in SIR.
2. User administrators (UAs) are tasked with assigning and approving roles to SIR users under their claimancy, including those subordinate UAs within the command's organizational hierarchy. As RMI contains safety-privileged and other sensitive information, UAs are responsible for ensuring access is only given to those with a legitimate need. UAs will also provide end-users with technical process information, answers to routing questions and other issues germane the concerns and challenges within their command(s).
3. The Naval Safety Center will provide RMI user administration and SIR familiarization training via several scheduled online sessions. Training will cover a variety of topics, to include but not limited to, instruction on SIR account access, accounts management, entering mishaps and recommendations, message approval process, memorandum of final evaluation, and supervisors report module added to this release. These live, interactive, and recorded sessions are scheduled for four hours and will start promptly at the specified time for each respective time zone. All civilian and military safety professionals, safety officers, managers, specialists, and collateral duty safety personnel are strongly encouraged to attend.
