GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN provides supplemental guidance to references (a) and (b) and supersedes guidance published in references (c), (d) and (e).
2.  Background.
2.A.  Many education centers across the Marine Corps were closed or have had limited availability to offer testing as part of the COVID-19 response.  Further, the capacity of the other Services'and Agencies'testing centers will remain limited for the foreseeable future, impacting Marines not stationed at Marine Corps installations.
2.B.  References (c), (d) and (e) extended all Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT) that expired between 16 March 2020 and 1 January 2021 until 1 April 2021.
2.C.  Most testing centers across the Marine Corps have re-opened and resumed testing operations.  Due to evolving conditions with COVID-19, some testing centers remain closed or offer intermittent service to protect Marines from exposure.
3.  Execution.
3.A.  DLPTS with an original expiration between 16 March 2020 and 1 January 2021 will not be automatically extended beyond 1 April 2021.  Any DLPT with an expiration after 1 January 2021 will not be automatically extended.
3.B.  Per ref (f), Marines who are entitled to a Foreign Language Proficiency Bonus (FLPB) are required to recertify annually by taking the DLPT.  Due to the limited capacity for Marines to recertify, all previously authorized FLPB entitlements have been extended to match the amended test expiration dates.
3.C.  Marines that are located in a region that does not have an open DLPT testing site can contact the POC with the information listed in paragraph 4.C to receive a temporary extension.  Individual requests will be evaluated and approved on a case by case basis, pending testing site availability.
4.  Administration and Logistics
4.A.  As the response to COVID-19 evolves, DLPTs will continue to be extended on a case by case basis until normal operations resume at testing centers.
4.B.  DLPT Extensions in accordance with ref (e) for COVID-19 responses are processed by Headquarters Marine Corps with no action required of the individual Marine.  Marines must review their records for accuracy and contact ForeignLanguageProgram@usmc.mil if there are any questions.
4.C.  Marines with a DLPT expiration after 1 January 2021 that cannot retake the DLPT due to local testing site closures should contact MARINECORPS_FOREIGNLANGUAGEPROGRAM@USMC.MIL and provide the following information.
4.C.(1).  Rank
4.C.(2).  Last Name
4.C.(3).  First Name
4.C.(4).  EDIPI
4.C.(5).  Physical location (must match Marine Corps Total Force System records)
4.C.(6).  Expiring language(s)
4.C.(7).  Date(s) of DLPT expiration
4.C.(8).  Date(s) of next scheduled retest or anticipated date of testing site opening.
4.D.  DLPT extension requests on or after 1 April 2021 must be submitted prior to the DLPT expiration.
