GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Situation.  Joint-service professional development opportunities for enlisted Marines are limited.  However, Marine Corps University, with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has established a long-term relationship with the United States Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) resulting in a limited number of seats for the Marine Corps.  This academy is located at Gunter Annex, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama.  The AFSNCOA is an intensive five-week course comprised of the following core areas:  Military Professional, Joint Warfighter, Operational Manager, Senior Communicator, and Combined Operations.  During the course, students will be required to read, write extensively, and publicly speak.
2.  Mission.  The Director, Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) will manage the quotas and coordinate the attendance of qualified Marines to AFSNCOA.
3.  Execution.  Course Specifics are as follows:

3.A.  Because there is a small number of allocations, packages will be considered on a first come first served basis.  The Marine Corps has five per class.  Force level G3 may submit one package per class.  Standbys will be accepted.  Allocations will be submitted no earlier than 60 days and no later than 30 days prior to the start of the course.
3.B.  Funding is available through Training and Education Command (TECOM) Worldwide Travel (WWT).  The SEA will coordinate student funding for the course through TECOM.  The student’s parent command is responsible for rental car funding.
3.C.  Marine Corps Forces (MARFOR) shall nominate Marines in the rank of master sergeant and first sergeant to attend the course.  Nominees must be submitted by the Marine's MARFOR G-3.
3.D.  Course Prerequisites.
3.D.1.  Nominees must have completed the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II (57x), accessed at https:(slash)(slash)jkodirect.jten.mil/.
3.D.2.  Nominated first sergeants and master sergeants must be PME complete for grade.  The respective course completion codes must be reflected in Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) prior to student nomination.
4.  Administration and Logistics.
4.A.  The following information must be submitted for consideration of attendance to the AFSNCOA.
4.A.1.  Course number.
4.A.2.  Last name, First name, Middle Initial, Electronic Data Interchange Personal Identifier, and Military Occupational Specialty.
4.A.3.  Grade and date of rank.
4.A.4.  End of current contract.
4.A.5.  MCTFS confirmation of the prerequisites listed in paragraph 3.D.
4.A.6.  Submit a professional resume.  Resume format can be found at https:(slant)(slant)www.usmcu.edu/ceme/senior-enlisted/.
4.A.7.  The Basic Training Record will be submitted to provide additional information.
4.B.  MARFOR G-3s will submit nominees directly to the Director, SEA: MCU_seniorenlistedacademy@usmcu.edu, ATTN:  Director.
4.C.  Director, SEA will coordinate student registration with AFSNCOA.
4.D.  Lodging.  All attendees are required to stay at the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, Gunter Annex, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
4.E.  Reporting.  All approved students will check-in on the respective report date to the lodging office at Gunter Annex, Building 1017, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.  Attendees will receive further guidance upon check-in.
4.F.  Orders.  Parent commands are responsible for proper orders preparation.  Indicate orders are reporting orders, government quarters available, and government messing is not available.
4.G.  Uniform requirement.  Will be provided via separate correspondence.
