GENTEXT/REMARKS/ 1. Purpose. In 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed an Executive Order authorizing Federal employees and members of the uniformed services to support and facilitate fundraising on behalf of charitable organizations through on-the-job solicitations. Implementing the order took the form of an annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) in which eligible charitable organizations were approved to participate.
2. References (a) and (b) announced the start of the 2021 annual CFC campaign, which began on 1 September 2021 and runs through 14 January 2022. The most important objective of this annual campaign is to ensure Marines, Sailors, and Federal employees are aware of the CFC and have the opportunity to donate to their non-profit charity of choice. As we did last year, we will meet this challenge forcefully and head-on. The Marine Corps must remain steadfast in our support to CFC. I encourage you to provide your commitment and leadership to all CFC efforts in and around your areas of responsibility to maximize the campaign’s objectives. The Marine Corps can perform this mission safely while still helping others in need.
3. Thanks to the generosity of our Marine Corps team members, CFC remains a vital supporter of non-profit organizations. With your support in 2021, this campaign will continue to provide the Marine Corps an opportunity to build on our legacy of helping others and making a difference.
