GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN announces the FY23 and FY24 HQMC SDA Volunteer Solicitation Roadshow (VSR) From 24 January 2022 to 10 February 2022. The primary purpose of the FY23/FY24 VSR is to encourage Marines to volunteer for a SDA in FY23 prior to the HSST List and solicit for the FY24 volunteer period that beings 1 July 2022. The VSR will allow volunteers to be screened by the SDA monitors during their visit.
2. From 24 January 2022 to 10 February 2022, select members of HQMC will conduct information briefs to increase awareness and encourage Marines to volunteer for a special duty assignment. These assignments include Recruiting Duty, Drill Instructor Duty, and Marine Security Guard (MSG) Detachment Commander Duty. Following the information briefs the monitors will screen packages for volunteers per reference (a). Marines interested in volunteering are encouraged to complete their volunteer packages for on the spot screening when attending the briefs.

4. All Marines in the rank of Corporal through Staff Sergeant must be afforded the opportunity to attend the brief. Marines of any rank who are interested in a future SDA or screenable billet assignment are invited to attend the briefs. Command leadership, both officer and enlisted, are welcome.
4.a. Any Marine who can volunteer for SDA during FY23 or FY24 should attend. The FY23 volunteer period is open through 28 February 2022. The FY24 volunteer period will open 1 July 2022. HSST list will be published in March 2022. Once a Marine is HSST assigned they are no longer eligible to volunteer for the SDA of their choice.
4.b. Lance Corporals that have an End of Active Service date in FY22 and all Marines who meet time on station requirements to execute Permanent Change of Station orders during FY22 are prime candidates to volunteer for FY23 assignments. These Marines face the likelihood of being screened by the FY23 HSST and missing out on volunteer incentives if they do not volunteer. They are strongly encouraged to attend the briefs.
