GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Per the references, the purpose of this message is to announce the results of the June and November 2021 Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) O-6 major program manager command screening and slating panels held aboard Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD.  The command screening program is to provide the best and most fully qualified commanders in order to maintain a competent and well-balanced acquisition force.  Marine Corps, Navy, and civilian applicants were screened for potential assignment as commanders for the available billets in Fiscal Year 2022.
2.  The following Marine Corps officers are selected for O-6 Acquisition Command as approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition) for command of Acquisition Category I (ACAT I) programs (read in two columns):

3.  All officers selected for command will have a letter annotating selection included in their official military personnel file (OMPF).
4.  Coordinating Instructions.
4.a.  Primary selectees are to accept via email to their monitor no later than (NLT) two weeks from the release of this message.  Those officers who decline command must submit their declination in writing (AA form) via the first general officer in their chain of command to HQMC (MMOA-3) NLT 18 February 2022.
4.b.  Officers who decline command, unless otherwise approved by Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs due to extraordinary circumstances, will not be considered for any other command during the slating year and are ineligible for command screening on future boards.
4.c.  Officers slated to acquisition command and billets will schedule their attendance to the Cornerstone: Commandant's Combined Commandership Program prior to, or shortly after, assuming command.  The program consists of two courses conducted concurrently aboard MCB Quantico:  a ten-day commanders course and a five-day spouses workshop.  These courses are conducted semiannually.  FY22 courses will be announced via a separate MARADMIN.  POC for the Commanders Course may be reached at DSN 432-4710 or Commercial (703) 432-4710, or (703) 784-6850.
