GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  As directed in reference (a), this MARADMIN serves in the interim to recognize Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) Officers as Aeronautically Designated Personnel (ADP) and Enlisted Sensor Operators as Aircrew defined in reference (b).  It will remain in effect until reference (b) is updated to include the addition of UAS Operators.  Additionally, it informs reference (c) as it pertains to the primary military occupational specialties for UAS.
2.  Aeronautical Designation (of personnel) and classification as Aircrew allows Headquarters Marine Corps Manpower and Reserve Affairs to properly assess and if necessary incentivize the UAS community per reference (d).
3.  Aeronautical Designation (of personnel) and classification as Aircrew incurs requirements and responsibilities as related to flight duties and the appropriate instructions (e.g. CNAF 3710) should be referenced and updated accordingly.  Additionally, ADP and Aircrew are subject to those processes outlined in reference (b).
4.  Release authorized by LtGen D. A. Ottignon, Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs.//
