GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The purpose of this message is to announce the winners for the Marine Corps Association (MCA) Information Awards dinner.  The MCA Information Awards are administered by the Deputy Commandant for Information (DC I) and consist of 16 individual awards and 3 unit/organization awards for outstanding performance of the Marines and Civilians throughout the Information Environment.  Congratulations to all the nominees and selectees for this year’s MCA Information Awards.
2.  I am pleased to announce the following selectees:
2.a.  The General Alfred M. Gray Award:  Captain Anthony M. Johnson, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
2.b.  The James Hamilton Information Technology (IT) Management Civilian Marine of the Year Award:  Mr. Timothy Dehaba, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group.
2.c.  The Private First Class Herbert A. Littleton Enlisted Communications Awards.
2.c.1.  Staff Noncommissioned Officer Award for Operational Communications Excellence:  Staff Sergeant Branson E. Hendricks, 7th Communications Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
2.c.2.  Noncommissioned Officer Award for Operational Communications Excellence:  Sergeant Ryder D. Medina, Communication Training Battalion.
2.c.3.  Staff Noncommissioned Officer Award for Electronics Maintenance Excellence:  Gunnery Sergeant Ryan M. Duggan, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division.
2.c.4.  Noncommissioned Officer Award for Electronics Maintenance Excellence:  Corporal William F. Ariasperea, 2d Intelligence Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
2.d.  The Lieutenant Colonel Michael D. Kuszewski Marine Corps Intelligence Officer of the Year Award:  Major Austin M. Duncan, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
2.e.  The John J. Guenther Marine Corps Intelligence Civilian of the Year Award:  Mr. Christopher Milligan, Marine Forces Special Operations Command.
2.f.  The Master Gunnery Sergeant Samuel C. Plott Marine Corps Intelligence Staff Noncommissioned Officer of the Year Award:  Master Sergeant Zachary R. Alexander, Marine Operations Group Central.
2.g.  The Master Sergeant Charles C. Arndt Marine Corps Intelligence Noncommissioned Officer of the Year Award:  Corporal Kade W. Ongna, Marine Special Operations Company B.
2.h.  The Lance Corporal James E. Swain Marine Corps Intelligence Enlisted Marine of the Year Award:  Lance Corporal Russ A. Fisher, 2d Radio Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
2.i.  The Information Officer of the Year Award:  Major Robert J. Costello Jr., I Marine Expeditionary Force.
2.j.  The Information Civilian of the Year Award:  Mr. James F. McNeive, Marine Corps Information Operations Center.
2.k.  The Information Enlisted Marine of the Year Award:  Master Sergeant Brandon S. Parsons, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
2.l.  The Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Shea Memorial Unit of the Year Award:  24th Marine Expeditionary Unit S-6.
2.m.  The Intelligence Unit of the Year Award:  11th Marine Expeditionary Unit S-2.
2.n.  The Information Unit of the Year Award:  Defense Cyberspace Operations – Internal Defensive Measures Company, 7th Communication Battalion.
2.o.  The Marine Corps Information Environment Enterprise Technical Leadership Award:  Gunnery Sergeant Nicholas R. Pate, 8th Communication Battalion.
2.p.  The Marine Corps Information Environment Enterprise Innovation Award:  11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
3.  No later than 30 March 2022, commands are responsible for ensuring that their respective individual awardees submit a high resolution official color photo and point of contact information to include name, rank, email address, and phone number along with any other correspondence via email to HQMC_DCI_Awards@usmc.mil for inclusion in the MCA Information Awards program.  Ensure the subject line identifies the nominee’s full name, rank, and award.
4.  The Information Awards selectees will be honored at the annual MCA Information Awards Dinner which will be held on 14 April 2022 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Richmond Hwy, Arlington, VA 22202.  Uniform for awardees and service members participating in the ceremony is service alphas with ribbons.  For all other attendees the dress is business or cocktail attire.  With the exception of the award recipients and Active Duty Marines, attendees must make reservations via the Marine Corps Association website at https:(slash)(slash)mca-marines.org/event/2021-mca-information-awards-dinner/, and select register.  Active Duty Marines are to contact Sarah Cohen at 703-640-0174 or email s.cohen@mca-marines.org for tickets.  HQMC DC I is not involved in the registration process, but please contact the POCs listed in this message for assistance in the event any issues should arise.
