GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Subject to conference approval, the 2022 USMC Asian Pacific American (APA) Professionals Leadership Seminar will be held virtually from 27 – 28 April 2022 using the Zoom platform.
2.  USMC APA Professionals are dedicated to building and strengthening the APA community of leaders through professional development and enhanced career opportunities.  The 38th Commandant’s Planning Guidance identifies III MEF as the Marine Corps’ main focus-of-effort supporting the Indo-Pacific area of operations.  APA uniquely understands the Indo-Pacific region through a deep grasp of the language, regional expertise, and culture while possessing the capabilities of establishing rapport and building relationships among key partners and allies.
3.  The 2022 USMC APA Professionals Leadership Seminar will present an opportunity to connect on three organizational levels:  individual– (leadership development and mentorship); community – (building relationships and strengthening ties); and organization– (providing institutional value to the USMC using the strengths of APAs).  This seminar will focus on the theme of “The Sphere of Influence” – a series featuring strategies to prepare attendees for increased career opportunities and leadership possibilities.  This two-day seminar focuses on strengthening influence capabilities as a core, which expands into methods that consciously craft personal credibility and reputation.
4.  Headquarters Marine Corps’ Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor 50 conference/registration fees.  Commanders may authorize Permissive Temporary Additional Duty for Marines and Sailors attached to their units to allow virtual participation in an environment without distractions.  Commanders/Supervisors may also approve civilian Marine participation in an environment without distractions.  All Marine Corps registration fees must be coordinated through MPE.
5.  Outreach events are open to all Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines regardless of rank, race, ethnicity, or gender.  Requests to participate in this event should be emailed to the group mailbox MPE_Outreach@usmc.mil via your Officer-in-Charge and include the following information:  name, rank, EDIPI, unit, email, and duty station.  Replies from MPE should be used in justifying PTAD requests.  Submit requests to participate no later than 20 April 2022.
6.  The uniform of the day for the event is Service “C” for any attendee broadcasting images or video in the course of his/her participation.
7.  USMC APA Professionals is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps.
8.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
9.  Release authorized by BGen A. T. Williamson, Director, Manpower Plans and Policy Division.//
